Default timing belt and dizzy question

is there a thread on how to time the d series corectly? my timing belt was put on correctly, cam gear showing 'up' and aligned with the head, the crank pulley is at the TDC, meaning 0 degrees? how do i find out if my dizzy is firing correctly on cylinder #1?

ive searched around but couldnt find the right thread on this.

if the car was starting then u could shoot the timing. Yeah that's the right order, my bad didn't know the car wasn't starting. You could take out the #1 spark plug wire at the spark plug and Stick a screwdriver in there hold it to any grounded metel and crank the car to see if your getting spark from it. When is the last time the car ran?

the engine is vitara built so it never started, what about the dizzy not firing at the proper time, would that be the timing issue or?

Bring the motor to top dead center and pull the cap off of your dizzy and make sure it is pointing at where you have the wire for the #1 cylinder. It could be 180 degrees out or you could have the wires one spot off or something dumb like that. I had the same problem just the other night with a friends car after we put his motor in
