well my car is throwing the code for this.im trying to locate it..i thought i saw a pic somewere on the net and it seemed to be on the top of the manifold on the throttle body side..i think...unless it was somthin else i saw.but wen i looked at my mani. it didnt have that on there.ive been googling and looking through my reapair manual to get a idea what it looks like or were its located but no luck..can anyone help?thanks

 

it's black, has a round cap on top of it, and has a vacuum line going to it

 

What year is your GSR?

95-95, it's black and screwed in vertically with 1 screw on top of your manifold. Can't miss it since it's the only one there.

96 & up, it's kinda square, blue and held in by 2 10mm bolts.

They both have vacuum hose going to the back of the manifold and another one going to the throttle body.

If your motor is JDM, you don't have one.

 

the one ive seen in the pic....werver i saw it i cant remember, was round with a cap...but if its the one i thought i saw in the pic mine is not mounted were it shows....

also..there is no hose to the t body thats loose.only one that was loose was one that comes from a metal line like on the firewall.think it was numbered # 7.and also there is one little nipple on the charcoal can that didnt have a hose..i thought maybe the # 7 hose went to that and then from the evap sol. to the charcoal can??

also my car is 96..and its usdm,stamped b18c1......unless it has a jdm intake manifold...i know the lady i got it from,her son rebuilt the motor. so i dunno

 

anyone have a pic of the stock manifold they can post?

ya thats the one i dont have......and that hose with the # 7 was dangling....hmmmm...also on my charcoal can thingy it has 2 larger hoses that go to a squarre looking thing that you can see looking down at the manifold towards the middle..its mounted like between the intake runners.this it??
if it is it this no location for the # 7 hose to connect..the charcoal can has 3 larger hose nipples and a small one..man i wish i could post a pic but i have no camera

 

oh and ive been looking through my helms book and saw some pics..but they all look like the one you posted patrickgsr..mine dont...obd difference maybe?

 

Your car is 96, so it's OBD2. That square looking thing bolted to the top of intake runners is your evap purge solenoid. It's different than the black round one for OBD1 shown in the picture above. One of the hoses is bigger on the OBD2 version.

From your evap solenoid, one hose goes to the nipple in the back of your intake manifold, next to the throttle body. The other hose goes to your charcoal canister.

is that for iabs and is that located under the i.m?

 

The charcoal canister should have 3 lines on top, 1 to the evap solenoid, 1 to the throttle body, and 1 to the fuel vapor hard line coming from the fuel tank (on the firewall). That is for OBD1 anyway.

If you have a stock hood, there should be a sticker on the underside showing vacuum line routing.

 

i noticed this thread has been dead for a couple months but if anyone can answer me i'd appreciate it.
i jus intalled a blox mani on my gsr and swapped my TB from me gsr to the mani.
when i was hookin everything back up i noticed my gsr TB doesn't have the nipple that im supposed to hook up to the charcoal canister. I looked at the other 2 b-series TB's i have and none of them have the nipple.
my question is where should i hook the vacuum line?
