ok so i bought a 96 gsr with a b16 bottom and a b16 head. how do these match up as for the head gasket? is it basicaly universal, because i might have a bad head gasket so i might have to replace that but i don't know what kind of gasket to get??? any help

 

Do you mean you bought a 96 gsr, and inside of it was a b16? If so, just buy a headgasket for the b16.

 

not compeletly... it had a b18 head on it.

As for your problem, get a B Series Vtec head gasket they are all the same.

 

im very clear b16 bottom with b18 top.... not a true b16 nor b18

ahhh sh*t now i get what you mean, sorry did not read it clear enough... it gets confusing when im getting parts always have to remember they are not the same. thanks for the help though

 

you get the head gasket that matches ur block

i am not sure i no for ls-v u need special dowels all the vtec might b the same
