Default Name This Part!

I need help for the name to find this part. It is the plate/cover that covers the whole where you can see the flywheel.

Also how dangerous is it to drive without it.

-Thanks

I have the flywheel cover off my tranny, and I've had no problems driving it like that for two years.

I'm talking about the cover down by the oil pan....

its called an inspection plate.

running without it you would probably be fine. but for me i'd rather not take the risk of getting road debris/rain water up in there.

Eh, just put some duct tape over it. You'll be fine.

I ran without one for a couple of years, even in winter with no problems. There also should be an arch or two (stiffener) to make sure your tranny does not rotate a little.

the bell housing covers the flywheel and clutch in such a way that it keeps all the larger things out of that area.

i have driven with this thing off for years, no issues.
if you drive through alot of water, ice, snow, i would consider putting it on.
plus...
YOU NEVER KNOW. something could find its way up there.
if you dont wanna worry, just put it on. it slips right in...
if you dont care about the potential damages, leave it off.
