Default wiring driving me nuts..please help

ok first post but ive read alot and seen some smart people on here..
so i have a 2dr 95 accord lx..it blew the running light fuse under the hood..i replaced it..about a week later it blew when i was out of town and my girls cous put a 30 in its place..when i got home i put a 15 back inm and it poped as soon as i turned the headlights on..so i put the 30 back in to get home and the next night it popped as soon as the headlights got turned on so i replaced the headlight switch and relay... nothing so i check all wiring looks clean as could be.cars only got 100k. i replace the bulbs...nothing.. it starts blowing all the time now..and when it blows the headlights come on with the switch off ...so i dont know what to do grounds are clean and good all other fuses are good bulbs all work.. where and what to start with? i will really appreciate any help that gets this problem fixed.. thanks in advance

your wire harness most likely has a short in it, especially since it does it without the bulbs. I don't have a schematic for that car, and you would need one to really start to trace the problem. If the lights come on when the switch is off and the fuse is blown, then it is somehow bypassing all of that and getting power to the lights. you'll have to get the mutimeter out and start tracing the harness.

I understand why your cousin put in a 30 amp fuse, but thats not good. I would only do that in an absolute emergency.

The left headlight and the right headlight are both on two separate 20A fuses. The dash lights, parking lights, tail lights, etc. are on its own 15A fuse (probably what you are referring to as running lights). When you turn on the headlights with the combination light switch, the dash lights, parking lights, etc. also turn on.

The short is probably not in the headlight harness; but, somewhere in the wiring related to the other lights.
