Default Presidential Detailed: 2004 AC COBRA 427ci

This car was brought to me by S&R Performance here in Tampa, FL. In the end we decided upon a "basic" exterior, 1-stage polish just bring back the luster but not really remove any defect beyond what my polish would do. We also did an interior detail, which I forgot to take afters of and we are scheduled to do the engine compartment in a couple weeks. The owner came by to check on the car and was very satisfied with the results and we may even be doing a full blown "Presidential" Exterior to this car in a couple months. We also scheduled his Audi S8 while he was there!

First off before we get started, this car was built in AFRICA!!! I must say it is one of the best aftermarket paint jobs I have probably ever seen. There were litterally no flaws in the paint job itself. The flaws I did happen to find were a few spots where it seemed after wet sanding, the body shop did not fully remove all of the scratched from the sand paper. The car also had quite a bit of swirling in it, but it probably hadnt even been washes since it was built! Even though the customer was satisfied with how the car looked, I pointed out the problem areas and he was interested enough to eventually reschedule the car for the full polish job. ENJOY!!! I DID! :D

The car looked great already, but I knew that wouldnt be the case in the sun!

As you can see there were also some buffer trails, I have a feeling they rushed the car out after paint/wetsanding and didnt do a thorough job of polishing the car.

I played around with a few polish/pads to find out what would give me good correction abilities while also finishing down LSP ready...I tried optimum polish on a white pad, it did not cut very well and was still too harsh to finish down lsp ready. I then tried Menzerna IP on a white pad, since I have had good results with SIP/White(I ran out of SIP)and it was my choice for today also!

50/50..As you can see it cut down the swirling quite a bit and also left a LSP ready finish.

Even inside, you could tell the finish was significantly deeper than before..

A ruckus is indeed in the shot! As for tires I generally use Meguairs APC+ Cleaner with a strong dilution. For tires with whitewalls, Ive always had good luck with Blechewhite Tire Cleaner, you can find this at most autoparts stores.

Sometimes I will wash them, but definitely always atleast rinse. I usually wait until AFTER waxing, to ensure I do not wax water spots back into the paint work!

I only performed a 1-step polish on this car using Menzerna IP/White pad, along with a combination of the products below. It was waxed with P21S 100%.

Products:

Exterior:
Optimum No Rinse
ONR diluted to clay lube
COBRA UMF Wash Mitt
COBRA Deluxe "Jr" MF's
Dual Buckets with Grit Guards
3m Masking Tape
Adams Professional Clay Bar
Meguairs APC+
Meguairs Hyperdressing
Menzerna IP/White
91% Isopropyl Alcohol
Tons of Uber MF Towels(AP)
Swissvax Pneu

LSP:
P21S "100%" Paste Wax applied with Uber Foam Applicator

I didnt use Meguairs polish, I used Menzerna. Zaino is good for the average consumer, but doesnt stand up to a pro level detail.
