Default Skunk 2 stage 1 cams for 99 GSR

I got a stock 99 gsr sedan with just a k&n intake. Im about to put some skunk 2 stage 1 cams with skunk 2 cam gears. My question is. Will the car run ok the cams considering my piping is stock? Will it cause any air/fuel ratio problems? Its obd2a stock p72 ecu. Oh and i dont have secondaries.

stage ones should do fine. i got stage 2 and thats when the idle starts to get a little bumpy. you should have it done with dyno tuning that way it actually makes power. my stage 2s gave my car 115hp and 110tq to 145hp and 130tq after tuning.

the p72 is borderline with a single runner manifold and FPR. when you change the intake airflow that much {cams and manifold} i would highly suggest a tune. you'll also want to raise vtec to 5600-5800 and the redline to 8400-8500. those cams also will require more valve spring. spend $30ish on the ITR exhaust inners which will allow duals on both sides, if you can't afford the skunk VT

Skunk2 Pro 1's require upgraded valvetrain I would not put them on with out. Also the Pro 1's will not run well on a stock ECU, Hondata S300, Chrome Gold or something to that nature and a TUNE!!!!! If you dont have the bolt ons to support these cams yet I wouldnt suggest using them.

How do i know if i have the pro 1 or tuner? I was told by the seller that they are pro 1's but is there anyway to tell if they are or not? It does say S2 etched on the cams and S1 at the end of each cam. But i dont know if its stage 1 tuner or stage 1 pro series.

i'm leaning toward tuner 1 since s1 stands for stage1. call to verify but that's the only reason i mentioned the ITR VT. if they are pro1s you will need something along the lines of their pro VT

Can i ask why you would spring for upgraded camshafts before you did anything else such as simple bolt-ons allowing your motor to breathe better? It seems as if your working backwards.

i picked them up on a pretty good deal. Im not putting them in yet. But I called Skunk2 and they told me S1 on the end of each cam wasnt Skunk2... but S2 is etched into both cams..its clearly a vtec cam with 3 lobes. The center lobe being the largest. Anyone know any info on these cams?

i think theyre Skunk2 stage 1 turbo cams..I measured the lobes on the intake and exhaust side and they were 10.4mm ".409 inches" intake and 10mm ".394 inches" exhaust. It says valvetrain upgrade not recommended but why is the vtec lobe so big? I measured 13mm on the vtec lobe. .512 inches. thats a huge lobe unless im measuring wrong...

can i run these cams on my n/a setup and still add power? I dont plan on running turbo.
