Default B series into 1989 Integra??

I am trying to see if I can put a B series motor into a 1989 Integra. Would the mounts work? What exactly would I need to do this swap? Axles, ECU, Etc. Any links would help.

you can put a bseries in it, you would need the coresponding computer for the engine, axles, trans, complete wire haress, any parts the engine your putting in dosn have, if its not off a site like hmotors, like if you buy it for someone id suggest a new timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, tune up before u put the engine in

check all the gaskets too, like the valve cover, spark plug tubes, oil pan, i mean u can do it in while the engines in, but it just makes it easier especially the timing belt

also id pick up a haynes or chiltons manual for the car, and itll tell u exactly how to take the engine out and re install

if your gonna be doing performance stuff to it, id probably get a chipped ecu with like hondata or somthing

Im concerned more with how I will bolt up the motor. Do I need the hasport kit or is there a way to use a variety of mounts off of other cars to make this work. Also, do I need a b series tranny or is the one on there going to work.

you need the mount kit, or need to fabricate mounts. There is no combo of oem mounts that will work. You also need a b-trans.

Ok so I got the motor mount kit ordered from Hasport. I already have a 96 LS motor and a 93 LS transmission. What axles do I need? What rear L bracket do I need?

I THINK 90-93 integra axles, but don't quote me. Try at http://www.g1teg.org the only place you should need to go, I would think.

That site doesn't have much information as far as what I would need to finish off this swap. Can anyone else help?

Got an L bracket to work....now I need to know what axles to use? Also does anyone know what that other sensor on the exhaust cam side is. On the old motor is has a sensor on the exhaust side right next to the distributor. I wanna know what that is.

Go join G1teg.org they have awesome info for the first gen integra's and many people on there have swapped in B-series motors. I used to have a 1989 integra too.

Your old motor was a D16a1 correct? The sensor I believe you are talking about is the cam positions sensor or called the CPK...In the new Honda motors the sensor is inside of the distributor...HTH
