Should I sell my B20 vtec and go H2b?
I have an ek and I currently have a fresh built b20 block 0 miles ready for a head and tranny. Planning to go b20 vtec but should I just sell that and go H2b? I can't decide....
In short yes if your only concern is horsepower and not comfort, but what do you want outta your car? If you want powersteering, ac, etc then stay b20
I wouldn't mind doing G23 VTEC if I had extra time and cash money

right now Im driving a jdm gsr from hmotorsonline with bolt ons. Its great but I need something more..
to me its a big deal. Ive been thru 3 swaps already and none satisfied me yet. All B series. First b16a2, then built ls/vtec and now jdm gsr.. Maybe an H2b will do the trick since I dont have money for a K.
lol.u want more than a b18c and im all excited im ordering a b16a from them. lol. well atleast its alot more hp than my d15b7 it has now lol. but back on topic i personally would stick with the b20 as i like comforts. p.s. idc about but i cant live without ac!
dont get me wrong a b16a is hella alot better than a single cam. I remember the first time I switched over I was so happy.. but you get bored and want more :/ you will learn some day jk.. :p
yea ive done swaps b4 and i felt all special... lol i went from a d15b7 to my a d15b and then from the hf crx to the d16a6 from da si and i felt like speed racer lol!
its not even that much more power. Its like 60 HP. its not worth the price. Just boost your D and it will be faster and cheaper.
h22's are frm sleeved however, mahle makes pistons that will work (they clame to be the only ones) They're the mahle gold pistons. h22's can be bored but the limit is around .025" i think. They have to honed/bored specialy so make sure your machinist knows that. Honda has a tsb about how to do it, look around and find it if you need. I've been doing my research because im in the process of a h2b right now, and it seems that the people that have the problem are the ones with incorrect p2w clearance, so make sure its right, mahle indicates what they are in the papers that come with them. If you want to do all motor, theres a guy here that has made around 250hp with s2 pro 1's, euro r manifold, and type s pistons i think and made it into the high 11's and thats pretty good. So far i've spent on my h2b: $9xx on a h22a from tigerjapanese, 1325 on a evolution h2b apapter kit from swap shop racing, and more stuff which include s2 pro series i/m and turbo1 cams for around 400 lol. But since you already have a linkage and b-series tranny you wouldnt have to spend so much
it is decided.. h2b.. Thanks everyone for your info. Now I will have to try and sell my complete jdm gsr as well as a built b20 bottom block. That would be my money for the h block and a b16a2 tranny.
