Somehow I doubt it is old oil... I would check your timing first and then follow that up with a compression test. You should try to diagnose the problem before you start throwing money at it (I've been there and learned my lesson).

I have the same problem with my B16a I was also thinking it was the coil. I went and checked my timing it was good. I haven't tried a compresion check, but when I first swapted the motor was strong and not to many miles later it started with your problem. Do you have all your vacuum lines hooked up?

Could be too advanced or retarded? If it's running rich it may have fouled an o2 sensor, which I'd say could be the case.

Lift up the carpet in the passengers foot well to see the ECU, there will be a small LED which will flash in accordance to what code your throwing. 1 short flash = 1, 1 long flash = 10. Keep in mind that after it's flashed it's code, it will repeat. So, flash.... flash...flash Would be a code 1 repeating itself, flash flash flash, in quick succession would be a code 3 etc.

Hope that helps!
