Looks like I won't be trading for that WRX...
Anyone remember this...

Well he just e-mailed me back today. Apparently he just got back from vacation and did some decision making. He decided he didn't want to trade for my ITR because:
1) He doesn't want to trade "down" from a '02 to a '00 car because of interest rates are higher.
2) He feels that he doesn't want to trade for a car he hasn't seen. Well I don't either, but I was willing to have someone check it out for me and meet him halfway or something and see how it went (Nebraska to Michigan).
**Big thanks goes out to Chui and Dropspeed for both being willing to check this WRX for me in Michigan.
**
Oh well, someone from the board is still interested in buying my ITR, but he needs to sell his GSR first.
Another person wanted to trade me his turbo '99 Si (custom paint gunmetal gray), wide body kit, etc. Car looks great.
I couldn't do it though because that's not what I'm looking for. If I do sell the ITR...I'm going low-key.

step up in my opinion....but why would rates be higher for the older car?

My insurance on my '98 ITR (God rest her soul) was w/ in $10 of what it would be with a '02 WRX. The Scooby was a little less.
And, the older your vehicle is, the higher the interest rate on the loan. I don't know the details but it equates to the available value that can be retained when measuring a new vs. old vehicle.

I know a dude in MI who wants an R...I will tell him about your car. This is one person I'd feel great about putting an R in.
interest rate are usually higher on older cars
most companies do this... my personal experience working for tmcc(toyota motor credit company)
its just hte way they do business.. cuz new cars they want to sell more of so interest rates are lower..
example u know how they advertise 0 percent apr... if u go to same lot get a used one no matter if its used for 100 miles they usually charge a point or two higher..

Sorry about that, Todd. I know a close friend of the gentleman with the WRX. I actually work with him and he drives a '98 ITR. I was trying to get in touch with the guy but he apparently wasn't in town as he never returned my calls.
I know of a few guys who may be interested here in the Detroit Metro Area. I'll be sure to pass the word.
