Best ways to prevent theft ???
What's the best way for me to make it less likely for someone to steal my future clean EF Sedan? other than just locking it in my garage and not taking it out. lo-jack? really good alarm? "The Club"? kill switches? keeping a pit bull in the back seat?
it's my understanding that it's more likely for an early 90s to mid 90s honda civic or accord to get stolen then a newer one or even nicer luxury cars. that said, i'm trying to figure out the best steps to take to try to keep my future EF secure.
opinions woulds would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS,

THANKS,
simple, no cost things you can do.
remove steering wheel.
remove ECU.
remove battery.
disconnect starter. (not many people will take the time to check)
disconnect alternator. (if they get your car they won't get very far)
low cost things you can do
ignition kill switch
fuel cutoff switch
the club
higher priced things you can do
alarm
lojack (however does not cover all areas)
not a complete list by any means but a few ideas none the less.

this was in the FAQ's. seems like it covers most options.

keep a gun on you and sleep in the car
but something you could do that wouldnt cost a lot would be to put a switch on the power wire from the keys witch to the starter ( make sure its under the dash though )

if u are scared of getting it stolen why not invest your money in another car that is less probable to get stolen. if u do get it then i suggest that u don't tell your security measures to any one not even your best friend as word of mouth gets around easy. the best anti theft imo is to wire some c4 to your vss and as soon as it hits 30mph it goes off stoping the thief permanently

LOL. yeah, one of the benefits of driving a bucket is you can park it anywhere and no one will probably take it. i'm not scared enough not to buy what i want. but i would like to take reasonable percautions and if it gets stolen, then that's what insurance is for.
thanks,

If the thieves want your car they will take it at all costs, no matter how much money you put into it to prevent theft.
Alarms, Killswitches, Detachable Steering Wheels, No Batteries won't do much against a Tow Truck...
Best defense you have is a Garage with a house alarm.

A metal plate that covers all the pedals with a big lock and a bunch of kills switches. Big wheel boot also. If you have a big tree in your yard then get a big thick chain and hook it up.
It depends on how crafty the thieves are. A tow truck will get it at any expense. An alarm with a proximity sensor is a good idea. Maybe a button to control a relay that has to be pressed while you crank the engine. That'd actually be quite easy to do.
i have a button start that no one knows about also i have a custom hood hinge that only i know how to open also i have my hood tied down with metal wires so it would take them a while to lift my hood up and take n e thin from my engine by that time my dog will have eaten them and i garage it everynight with a basic alarm nuttin fancy just dont show of your car like its the greatest thing in the world and thoose basic things like lockin your car or gagaring it and u should be fine good luck
here is some in depth information. hope it helps. https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1794938
you just gotta master 'the look'

seriously tho,
the last owner of my car wired up a fuel pump cut-off switch and put it in the little cubby hole on the center console, and rigged up a press button starter and hit it very well.... i couldn’t explain where he hid it if i tried. So starting procedure consists of turning the ignition to the run position, switching the fuel pump on, and then pressing the start button, it will not turn over by turning the key.
Its very complicated, and a bit of a hassle but the only way they could steal it at this point is to back a flat bed wrecker up to it...but as stated before, would you bother for this car?!
