Default spot welded extra metal on strut towers help please!

Im currently shaving my engine bay on my 5th gen and I came across these extra metal pieces on my strut towers (l and r). I pulled a couple brackets off of them that I wont be using so what is the point of them and can I take them off? I think it would be much cleaner without them. any help would be appreciate thanks
Rob

**the piece right under the paper btw

I don't see what you couldn't, just don't drill all the way through the frame when you drill the spot welds up.

If I remember right, that piece just holds a little bracket for the wire harness connectors.

I would cut the little tabs and stuff off that you aren't going to be using. If it provided no structural support at all, there would be no reason for it to connect between the strut tower and the rail

I am not sure why it is there, but I don't see why Honda would put such a beefy bracket there if its sole purpose was to hold the wiring harness. I know thats all it appears to do..
Like I said, I could be wrong, I didn't design the car lol

Looks structural. It is thick and ribbed.
