best way to keep exhaust clean?
Whats the best way to keep the exhaust clean? I have a canister type exhust for my car which runs sideways under the rear of the car (crx/ef style) and since its bright polished its quite obvious. The problem is that it will not stay clean at all, I cannot even drive it to the store without it picking up dust and having puddles of water leave etching.
Is there a good sealant or wax that would work well at keeping it clean for at least for a week or so? I was going to take it out this weekend, to give it a good polish, so now would be the time to do it.

go to a detailer shop that sells chemicals and ask for some acid, its clear and you spray the shyt on... wash off wallah no touching it at all... great for rims and water spots on windows and paint, but dont leave it on to long....
I have a crx with a Polished Magnaflow ran like stock, and I know exactly where you are coming from. I waxed mine with s100 (motorcycle products) wax and I keep a cheap *** microfiber in my detailing box in the rear. Anytime I think about it, I just squat down and wipe the dust and waterspots off quick with a little detailing spray on the rag. Do it about twice a week and it looks decent for the most part.

Try blue magic metal polish because it leaves behind a silicone-finish that replels salt, water etc. No car stays clean once it leaves the driveway.
I like the way you think, I actually just found a bottle of what that Blue Magic stuff in my garage. My issue is that since the exhaust is always hot the water really does not slide off, it burns and creates minor etching.

JETseal 109 from Chemical Brothers is more or less a sealant, but it can be used on everything from paint to metal, wheels to plastics. It's not cheap, but it lasts like six months.
