Silverstars definitely will not be the brightest and clearest bulbs. Especially if you buy them locally. The ones sold in North America are the Sylvannia Silverstars, in Europe the company Osram which owns Sylvannia makes their brand of Silverstars which are much better. It may be a bit hard to find a pair in 9006 though check out ebay and google for some prices, it's usually not much more than buying them locally. Check out powerbulbs.com they have 2 pairs of nice philips bulbs in 9006 and offer free shipping around the world.
Stay away from MTEC and Eurolite bulbs, they are crap. PIAA makes some nice bulbs as well but are pretty pricey. If you are looking for quality over styling, then I would recommend the Philips X-Treme power, and Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, although I'm not 100% sure if they are offered in 9006. Either way they are both +80% bulbs.

I use Osram bulbs as well. But I'm in Holland so they are easy to come by here. Albeit expensive.
Another advantage is that EDM crxes can use H4 bulbs. Which are much much much better to start with anyway.

The company is called OSRAM-SYLVANIA. I sell the bulbs at our shop and the packaging has both names on it!
What about those with H4H bulbs in the JDM EF headlights, what do you use?

I've had bad luck with the Silverstar Ultra's. I have to replace them quite often (more often than stock, at least). They do look REALLY good though.
I didn't know the Silvertar 9006 bulbs were that rare. I haven't ever had a problem finding any at my local Canadian Tire stores.

I cut the high beam plugs off a car in a junkyard and wired them to my low beam wires when I did my wire tuck.
I've never had a cop ask me about the head lights. and I don't think I've ever been flashed because of them. But being really low probably has a lot to do with that.

i guess to each his own.
i would rather modify something thats easily replaceable than something thats harder to come by in pristine condition.
you need to re align your lights again, cause the 9005 is more dispersed unlike the 9006.
i pointed mines lower so my headlight lines up perfect to my hood, bumper and corner lights.
