Default Anyone ever use a STOCK air box with a skunk2 IM??

Just as the title states, has anyone done this? I have and would like to use a stock intake arm and air box with my skunk2 intake manifold. Would i need a stock intake arm and air box from a LS or Type R because the skunk2 IM sits higher than the stock gsr IM?

LS intake arm should be fine, unless the ITR arm is larger, which I'm not sure about.

The LS intake arm will fit, but would be pointless since the diameter is too small to see the full gains of a SK2 manifold. It's the equivalent of using a race muffler bolted onto stock piping.

The ITR intake arm & air box would be a better choice - it has a 3" diameter and look stock.

You can kinda mush down the piping to make it fit but its gonna be a bit ugly and will look out of place if you use the standard Gsr intake. I know, i had it like that for a little bit.

ya it runs great! although, vtec is still set at stock 4400rpms. I am going to get a street tune soon though and hopefully get the full potential of my setup.
