Default MPFI help.....

i just did a mpfi swap, and im using a intake off of a ex EG(using all of the sensors off of it, like evac, and intake temp. also the fuel rail, but using obdo injectors) and it was a automatic. But using a LS throtle body, and using a si dizzy & risistor box. when i got done i started it up and ran kinda funny, the idle is kinda choppy. but more less it was alright, then after it ran for no more than 30 seconds, it rev to 3k(for like 5 seconds) then shut off.
but it would start up and do the same thing. and it's throwing the code 5.

So i started it up agin, and played with the throtle and it would stay running. so i took it for a ride and anything before 3,000rpm it would run like s^%$. but after about 3,000 it took off like a bat outa hell. and as long as the rpm was above 3k it would run fine...

so if you have any ideas, please help.
thanks

when you say intake, do you mean the intake arm or intake manifold? I guessing you mean manifold correct?

Are you using PM6 ecu?
Code 5 is for your map sensor. Since you're using the eg intake your map sensor should be on top of the throttle body. I believe the LS throttle body has it there too. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. I'm pointing at the port where the map goes on the TB and the second pic is the map sensor.

If your TB doesn't have the map sensor on it then you map should be in the stock EF location which is on the fire wall. First thing to do is check to make sure the vacuum line is plugged in and not cracked at all. (if the map is on the TB then there isn't a vacuum line, it's senses vacuum through the port in the TB check the O ring though). Make sure the electrical connector is plugged in good and if all those are good then you'll need to check the sensor it self and the elecrical wiring.

if ur running a tb with the map sensor on it, i would recommend you use that instead to eliminate any confusion or doubt.

I was playing with it last night and i got it to run the best it has yet, i could get it to idle at 1,000-2,000 pretty good. but when i would drive it, the motor would have no power and would spit and sputter at any rpm be for 2,500. I would have to keep pumping the throttle to keep it going. but anything after 2,500 it would run fine and have plenty of power. and my map sensor never gave me a problem before with duel point, but you think it could of just takin a s#!+....

I did change the tps wires around, and it's a good tps. it has real nice throttle response past about 2,500rpm. but before then it just spits and sputters

check, recheck, and check again all of ur mpfi swap wiring.(real easy to have some backwardz due to different mpfi swap writeup methodz of "viewing" plug numberz) some read front of plug looking at it,some from the back of plug.Happened to me on 1st mpfi swap...

i just changed the IACV with one of my friends, and it helped the idle, but didn't fix it all of the way(still code 5 came up). but when i test drove it down the road and back, a new code came up, code 9 #1 cylinder position. could the dizzy be going out? ive check the wiring and i doubt its that...
