after swap- no tach!?!?
i just repalced my h23a with a jdm h22a- now my tach doesnt work- any ideas where to start looking for the problem? anyone experienced this before? thanks for any help
Also, near the passenger side wheel well ( in the engine bay), there is a capped blue wire. It is a test tach lead, check the voltage there, easier than pulling apart the dizzy usually.
yah i finally figured out that that blue plug in on my wheel well was not for my vtec lol.....thanks JTC... im still trying to get my vtec to woking though... i now have a tach though.... i have read that some cars are prewired for vtec and i thought mine was (95 SE) but im trying to figure out where and what wires to hook to the op swith and solenoid..... that is how to hook it up without going thru the fire wall with new wires...and i may not can do that but it was just an idea.... if im wrong somebody tell me please.....
p.s. this h22 pulls harder than my h23 with out the vtec working... i cant wait to feel it in full effect....

You are going to have to go through the fire wall, its not as hard as you make it out to be.
If you want an easy way to wire vtec on this motor, you can do this.
Run the Vtec oil pressure switch in the vtec solenoid wire. As long as there is oil in there it will work for you.
The vtec oil pressure is like D7, and the soleniod is like a7(those arent the correct plugs, Ill leave that up to you to figure out. So just plug D7 into the a7 line and you will be good to go.
Note that you are still going to have to run a wire from the ecu a7 into the engine bay and plug it into the Vtec solinoid
