Hi all, I recently picked up a 02 RSX-S project/daily. The tranny has a massive third gear problem. What is the best solution for this? Should I order a 3/4th syncro or find a rebild kit for the tranny and have that installed? Thanks everyone! Any input on where to order from or just general light shedding on the subject.

I would just scope out the Classifieds and wait until one pops up, people are selling these all the time for $500-$1000 bucks. Try k20a.org too

dealership will most likely cover the third gear. It's a recall they just keep it quiet. Call them and find out. My friend got his done even out of warranty.

 

Same with EP's? Also if so, what if I bought the car used?

 

It's not a 6-spd, there is no TSB for our EP3

 

Well I didn't know it's only for 6speeds. Where can I check on Recalls and TSB's for EP's.

 

hmmm.... not really sure. I wasn't aware of the same problem with the 5spd trannies.

i have a used 3/4 gear set out of an 06 civic si and the lsd as well. i believe the gears sets are the same part #'s because i have dont it before for other rebuilds i have done at work. i work for a honda dealer. lmk

 

If that wasn't kinda funny I'd come up with something to get back at you haha, but I meant is there a common specific website that people knew of, but thanks anyway. I guess I could do my own research on this one haha.

 

Or you could just send your tranny to us and get it rebuilt for $450 including parts and shipping.
