88 dx crx, swap complete 90 DA integra harness?
i have an 88 crx dx that was converted to obd1. it was a half *** job, and i will be swapping in a b18a from a 90 integra. since i have the whole integra shell to get the complete harness off of, would that be a better idea to swap the complete engine and dash harness over into the crx. i will be going back to obd0 using the obd0 ecu and everything so i can state ref and bar the car here in california. i noticed that the dash harness from the integra didnt fit the crx dash, so some modification will be needed. but basically, will everything else be plug and play?
no not worth the headache....if your really concerned about your engine harnes just get another one from a wrecker for your car (88-91 civic/crx dx) and convert it to mpfi and plug it in. when doing the b18 swap you are supposed to use your current engine harness modded to fit the b18. so in cali they wont let you run an obd0 car in obd1??? thats kinda dumb, the obd1 is more effiecent.....
what exactly is the headache? the removal part? or will the harness not fit? one reason is because the complete harness is available. in cali, you can run obd1 in an obd0 car, as long as you have all the emission equipment that was on engine you are swapping in. i have the complete b18a swap, so i decided to stay obd0.
because a da harness is designed for the da. if you tried to run the engine and cabin harness from the da in your crx you'd have to use the da dash as well, and even then it'd be a headache. who knows the kind of electrical issues you'd run into. it would be many times easier to use the stock wiring harness that came with your car to begin with and convert it to mpfi.
its just not worth the trouble to swap harnesses from a ef to a da only because you want to convert back to obd0 and installing a b18....just take our advice and stick with a stock harness converted for mpfi for the b18 or clean up your current harness and stick with obd1 and run the b18 on obd1.
i was thinking about the same..... pretty much ima end up buying the harness already made!!!! thought about converting myself went through so many how tos..... kinda getting sick of it.... some say cut some say dont cut!!!! its kinda hard who to believe..... i posted it up the other day to see if any acctual members had done it and if they had to take pictures to show how they did it!
