i was takin the intake manifold out of a 95 ls lon block that i bought. i was lookin through the intakes valves and in only 1 of them there was a rust lookilike residue on it. the previous onwer told me that engine had been sittin for almost a year he never used it. so can it be? what do u guys think it is? can it be just moisture? but if its why only in 1 valve??

 

If it's been sitting for a year it's probably what it looks like, rust. Does it rub off easily?

 

well i havent try to take it of yet i was tryin to get pics. wut should i use to take it off or at least try. and i cant get my finger all the way in there either . but if it is rust, why only in 1 of the valves the other 1s dont have it.

 

I have the same thing going on with an Ls longblock i just purchased.. it was left outside under a tarp for a year and has major rust in the head.. I have been cleaning it as much as possible, will it be ok when i start it tomorrow?

 

hmm.. so 4 of the valves are rusted open.. nice..
