well the civic i picked up the d15b2 it has has problems. i found a d16y8 motor and was told it will work and all in the car. im new with all this well kind off. my question is is it a lil decent motor. i wanna stay single for now and maybe boost it a bit just for own pleasure nothing big or to get max hp out of it ill do that when i do a b series swap. is this motor a good lil decent one to have for now.? any input will be apreciated thanks

yeah, its a decent little motor. your going to want to convert to obd1. the motor is obd2. its what i'm building for my hatch. if you read in the 92-00 civic forum some of the guys in there run that motor since it was stock and run pretty good numbers with boost.

I have the motor in my 90DX good motor but i cannot for the life of me get it to run great.. vtec hits OK but under that its blah

youll have to convert it to mpfi and obd1, but other then that most would say below vtec it feels like a b16. its a good engine though with the best oem flowing intake manifold for the d series, most would say the z6 head is better but whatever....id say go for it.

man id drop in Z6, i got one in my rex and it is sick man i like it so much and its a good motor for a SOHC.
