Post Electrical Woes

About 2 weeks ago i had my alternator replaced with one from Advance Auto Parts. Everything was going good until two nights ago i noticed that when i hit 3.5K rpm the heat and lights would get stronger. i didn't think much of it until my drive home when while i had my high beams on i hit 3.5K and the highs completely blew out.

Any ideas? Alternator Problem?

did you by chance by a reman'd alternator. sounds like the internal voltage regulator is fubared and your getting voltage spikes.
