Energy Suspension Hyper-Flex Experience
Im about to give my car a tune up and im in dire need of bushings. Has anyone had any experience with this kit "Energy Suspension HYPER-FLEX SYSTEM Complete Master Bushing Set" I know some bushings are missing in the kit, but im just looking for some reviews and helpful knowledge about them. Thanks
have them in the crx, only hard one to install was the big center one on the rear lower trailling arm, but a good vice and some poly grease will get it all in nice. it will deffinatly be a bumpier ride as well, but handling should feel stiffer as long as you have the support mods to go with it.
OEM rubber is good, especially the new updated ones that they have now. I've used OEM, Mugen and ES, and the only problems I had with the poly bushings were related to severe track use, and I won't be using them on the track car again. For a street car I'd just use the new updated OEM bushings, they are pretty decent. Putting them side by side with the Mugen rubber bushings you can't see any difference between the two. ES poly works for the street too, but I couldn't see enough difference to justify the hassle.

I ordered those suja motoring bushings myself, They look great, its jsut been too damn cold for me to put em in (or i'm lazy *shrug*). But i'm actually replacing my current ES kit with the suja ones.... poly left me wanting and for the price, the suja kit seems like a great deal.
really kinda makes me wonder what i paid for my full ES kit....i cant remember....wait just looked one up on ebay:

its deffinatly cheaper, and well urethane will last longer then the rubber ones...

im goin with the suja set here in bout a month unless i find a cheaper kit that isnt poly....let us know when you install those kip. anyone else use these yet???
I am thinking about going with OEM on my next replacement...anyone know a good place to get all the OEMs in bulk...like buying them all for you car at once..Anyone sell a package like that or do you have to go to honda and order them all seperate?
Only applies to the rear trailing arm bushings. The rest are very much different (harder durometer rubber).
Yep, the RTA ones were the Mugen ones that I got. Of course all of the ones on my Honda are either spherical or Delrin now, but it doesn't see a lot of street use any more.
I have every single energy suspension bushing in my car. some were included in the kit some weren't. I have personally noticed a significant difference over the worn out 20 year old ones.
i got the master kit in my wagovan. i would have gone with OEM, but it was easier to just get a kit as a whole. they are a lot stiffer as stated above. i did however go with oem trailing arm bushings. i must say i really like the energy kit though. i would personally recommend it especially since its only around $200.
im currently in the process of doing the es kit. To make your life a lot easier invest in a 20$ propane torch and burn out all the bushings, then use a wire brush of some sort preferably one on a drill to make your life a lot easier. the entire kit is not too bad to do, as long as your not repainting/powder coating everything like i am.
the only bushings i have noticed that were missing are the rear upper arm and the rear toe adjuster
replacing the bushings on the steering rack kind of suck, but not too bad

So far im still one the fence of what i want to do, I have mixed reviews of the poly bushings. Some say they make noise and are too stiff and some say they are worth the money. I would like to go oem, however it is a massive pain in the butt to order all oem bushings and replace everyone. the ES system seems to be worth the money and right now for my daily driver it seems to be worth the hassle. 142 bucks for most of the bushings, with proper installation they work fine, cant beat em. please if anyone has any experiences that totally go against the way im feeling please let me know, it will be a couple days before i make the purchase. thanks
im thinkn about goin with the suja kit. a littler harder than oem as stated in the info but oem like rubber. i have energy suspension sway bar links and bushings now and they do make a little squeak every now and then but deffintly hold up pretty well. id say stick with oem or close to it like suja. just my .02. good luck man
I have the ES kit on my CRX and it's awesome. There are some squeeks, but if you lube them up well when installing them it really cuts down on the noise. I'm sure you'll save money over buying all the oem bushings and the performance is way better.
My car is stiff, but that's because I have Tein SS suspension. The ES bushings do make it a bit stiffer, but it makes it more predictable when cornering. I say get the ES kit, you won't be disappointed.
