Default Advice about what Header you have....

I have on 07 civic si sedan and am wanting a header. It's currently stock with and aem short ram intake.

I would like to know for any of you who have a k20z3, what header do you have?, are you impressed with your header?, do you suggest a certain header?, etc.

I am looking for power, preferably with a quieter sound but it doesn't really matter to me.

I've looked into dc motorsports header, buddy club, vibrant, etc.

If you don't mind suggesting me some other headers to further me into my decision, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!

FINALLY.......someone who understands the correct terminology.

To answer your question...I don't know about performance gain differences between each different race header setup.....but I have the DCRH on my car and gained just over 20whp with the Fujita SRI and race header setup. I've had it for a year and a half now without any problems so anybody who says that it's a crap header can go to hell. May not be golden-class quality like other setups....but it's not crap either. It's a good value for the money....and the gains are there.

you can get DC, Strup, Vibrant, Vibrant w/high flow cat, Buddy Club, T1R, SSR,and Hytech custom header. if you want something quite you will have to modify your exhaust with a bigger resonator or a quite muffler.

the vibrant can make more power than the DC. the dimensions are slightly bigger.

if you're looking for a quiet header, dont get the race headers that a couple of people have mentioned.

Any hard evidence to back that up? Dyno graphs, video, etc.?

Is the DCRH legal for street use? If not, any problems with registration? Also any flack from the dealership, if you brought it in for maintenance?

No aftermarket header is legal for street use unless it has a cat in the stock location.

As for the dealership... mine doesn't care. Not even a word about my mods.

CAN is the right word to use here as the Vibrant does have the largest collector diameter (@2.5"~) of any currently mass produced headers for the Civic SI and no doubt could be more beneficial for larger applications such as a supercharged setup or a car with aftermarket cams. But as stated by others, the gains are minimal for a basic naturally aspirated (i/rh/e) setup. There are numerous dyno charts at 8thcivic.com with DCRH SIs pulling similar numbers to their larger and more expensive counterparts (BC, Vibrant).

On a side note: I would like to see if we can squeeze more power out of the larger diameter header for a basic I/RH/E setup if we had access to an affordable tunable system.

True dat. Gained over 20whp with my I/RH combo. Stock exhaust.

I'd like to see what kind of numbers a more expensive header like Vibrant, BC, etc. puts up on a non-Forced Induction Si.

i have a vibrant street header with HFC and matching vibrant catback system on my 08 si and i am very happy with it.

instant response, great sound....not loud or raspy at all...unless you push the car. i have talked to alot of folks out there running other headers and so far.....their reviews have been mixed.

vibrant hands down
