Hood fitment question
Hey all, just joined cuz I had a question I cant find a definite on. My little brother has a 99 EX and he needs a new hood. I found a VIS Evo Style carbon fiber hood for an awesome price but its off a 96-98 Civic.
Will it fit his 99?
I know there were some subtle differences between the 2 years but were the differences that much that the hood wont fit?
Let me know! Thanks!

I actually just posted in a thread much like this the other day.

I have a 96 EJ8, and damn it I just love the 99-00 front end.
I've been reading up on DIY conversions, but I still have one question that perhaps someone can answer.
I understand that if you convert the entire front end minus the hood that the hood does not sit flush with the upper grill. to Choices are either to modify the front end of the hood or buy a 99 00 hood. I probably should just buy a hood, but I'm married and in the military, so $$$ is always an issue.
Unfortunately, DIY guides on CivicLand, JDM Universe, Clubcivic, and Honda-tech don't elaborate on hood modification. I'm sure what'll happen is I start doing this, put the hood down, and it's common sense. Just curious if anyone has experience with this.
Thanks!
PS: Yes, conversion mod means I'm getting rid of my angel eye halo projectors

Just look at the two front ends from a straight front angle. Notice the front leading edge. The grilles are different widths. The angles of the headlights are different. The space between the headlights and grilles are different. The '96-'98 hood won't fit between the headlights and grille of a '99-'00.

It might work, but it's going to look like ****, which sort of kills your reasoning for doing the conversion to begin with. Just save up and buy parts over a longer span of time, and then do the conversion.
PW:JDM is known to sell replica parts as OE btw.
