crank but no start
i really need some help on this i just dumped $350 into my 91 crx and its still not starting i put new distributor, plugs and wires, main relay, had it towed, and a few other things its just really gettin annoying and all this troubleshooting broke me for the month. Any advice is appreciated thanks.
timing belt has more than it should and j have no way to check compression my dad said its ok though and you can smell fuel and when i take the plugs out they have fuel on them im stumped.
what happen as to why it doesn't start ?
what did you do before the problem occurred. sure we can give u an idea of what if could be but that would probably put you in dropping more money from taking assumptions from here.

Sounding a lot like timing belt.
You can remove the upper plastic cover from it fairly easily to see if it broke.
You'll alo need this cover off to ensure the crank and cam are timed correctly.

i had a similar problem in a dx hatch once, changed everything and spent a fortune, turned out to be a ignition switch i picked up at a wrecker for 20.00....try that. its under your steering column attached to your ignition.
The dizzy is from a recycle yard but it was tested and works fine could the ignition switch cause it to not start even though it cranks, has spark, and its gettin fuel?
Take off the distributor cap and check the rotor.
Sometimes the little screw that holds it in place vibrates out and the rotor spins freely. You get spark, but not at the right time.

he has spark so im guessing his dist is fine, ive seen civics with one tooth skipped and well they still start just run like a bag of bolts, so i doubt its that he is getting fuel so thats not a problem, my best guess is the ignition switch, it will crank the car but it wont start, my car was parked for like a month before anyone suggested it.
just had an idle issue but i fixed that before this happened and now i got a brand new dizzy on it and still no start....its in the shop accumulating hours and the mechanic himself is stumped its drivin me crazy
mechanic says its got spark, fuel, and good compression and timing is dead on we cant figure it out he said it was the dizzy cus of really weak spark, so i got a new one and now the spark is strong but still just crankin and not starting

btw this was me three years ago, culprit was the ignition switch, if you search ignition switch on here its more common then one thinks, and you having exhausted all your other options im betting thats it:

theres more to it then just power to the switch, theres a continuity test in your helms, check it out, heck you have changed everything else, LOL its worth a shot.... its got fuel at the line but are the injectors firing??
