Default Changing a Dx blue interior to Si Black, any problems with paint?

I have a clean 88 crx dx, the interior is blue, and i have been wanting to convert it to the Black/Grey color of crx si's. Has anybody done this with interior spray paint from auto zone? Is there a chance of flaking, or chipping? Let me know, Thanks

Best to use good interior products such as SEM found at quality auto paint supply stores. Use a good platic prep to clean the plastic WELL. Next use a good plastic primer, SEM or Bulldog, both adhesion promoters. Next use SEM paint in multiple light coats and your done. It isnt as rugged as the origional which is dyed plastic, hard to chip that, but if you do it correctly (prep is evereything here), you will get great results, and you can always perform touch-ups.

BTW, SEM Landau Black is nutz on to the factory Honda black.

I disagree

You can use krylon interior paint and it will look pretty decent. It's common and cheap.

I painted my blue guage cluster hood and center console a few years ago and it hasn't chipped or cracked yet. It's also pretty close to being the same colour as stock SI, just a little shinier.

you need to clean it really really well. The more time in preping it to paint the better the outcome will be. But no matter what ive seen everything used, OEM is the best way.
your best bet is just convert all the parts. im in the process of doin in on my hatch from blue to black.
