how to adjust timing?

Default how to adjust timing?

i got a ls motor in my coupe an its got aem cam gears an i was wanting to maybe tinker wit em an adjust em a little to see wat it does different the guy i got the car from say they are asjusted 90 somethin wat ever that means i would like to know how to adjust em properly and what differences it would make

pretty much if you have to ask how to adjust cams its probably not a good idea for you to do it. there are 3 things that could happen it could make the car a little stronger, weaker or blow it all to hell. just a little too far and you will warp every valve you have. i would suggest that if you care about the ls as im sure you do, to let someone who already knows how to do it, adjust them. dont take it to a regular shop. take it to a speed shop.

if you just have to do it yourself call the manufactuer of the cams you have and ask them what the maximum specs. are for the engine you have.

well theres no way its adjusted 90 degrees, and still yet 9 degrees is a lot. If its a stock motor or mostly stock then its probably just a good idea to leave it alone.

yea its 9 degrees haha i guess it should be tuned in bout right im assuming at 9?
