Front door speaker removal help please
For christmas i got a bunch of money from the grandparents and ive decided to upgrade my stereo and speakers. Iv already swapped out the old 6x9 rear speakers for a nice pair if infinnitys and i was able to do that myself. My next question is how hard is it to remove the speakers int eh front doors? Should i pay the $50 for installation or could i do this myself like the rears?
I believe you should be able to access the speaker screws once removing the doorskin. It'll be a bit more difficult that the rears which are almost too easy, but should still be doable if you've got some determination.
alright thanks, ill just refer to my haynes book to get the panel off (mine doesnt say anything about the speakers) and ill assume its just as easy as u said, thanks for the info. ill def. be trying this myself
.. one screw from the interior handle..take handle out... one screw that hold the the switches..one plastic screw near the upper right..
take out the panel.. take out the oem speaker by the bracket...
take out the speaker...modify the bracket so the new speaker fits in it..use a razor and clip out the space required..
cut the oem harness crimp in female connectors
go online find the speaker diagram for which one is pos which is ground..

(1) screw in the door handle
(1) screw in the little door pocket.
When removing the door panel be careful not the break the clip holding the door handle. I recommend prying the door panel out from the bottom right out.
