will these rods work?
im switching over from a b20 to a b18c and im curious if my old eagle rods will work. my old rods are 5.394 inches in length and the GSR ones are 5.430.
Check the BE width of your B20's. I think it is 23.75mm and the B18C's are 21.8mm. I would say that in order to run your old rods in a B18C you will require a piston with a custom wrist pin location (or go with the stroke 1mm short) and a B18C crank with the main journals widened. I am not a B guru. I'm only going off a comparison of the spec sheets for the two rods.
It will drop your compression, lowering HP and the overall performance of the engine. For example if you had the B18C w/10:1cr. Using the shorter B20 rods would drop your compression to 9:1. I still think the larger BE width of the B20 rod would pose more of a problem if you use the B18 crank.
Like he said, the rods have a different length and big end width. They are not interchangeable.Sell the ones you have and by the ones you need. You may even find some one that will trade with you.
