Default removing paint from an IC

what is best to use to remove the paint from the an IC so i dont damage it. (its painted black)

Go to wally world and pick a can or two of aircraft paint stipper, spray it where ever paint is and let it set for about 10 minutes and hose it off, you may have to repeat a time or two to get all paint off, but better than having to scrub it off and damaging your fins.

word. thats what i was thinking about doing but i wanted to see if there was any other ways.. the guy i bought it from painted it. he used some bbq grill paint he said. its starting to flake since iv put about 10k miles on it. and id rather strip it all and redo it then have 2-3 layers of paint on the IC that might hurt performance.

aircraft sttripper is amazing, use the brush on though rather than the spray
