need help asap
hey everyone, i just bought a 91 cvic si, the car has been sitting for two years and has not been started. i tested the dizzy and found no spark, so i replaced it, i tested if it get fuel and it does, the car turns over and is on the verge of starting but wont, so my question is, the car has a full tank of gas that is 2 years old, could it not start cause of spoiled gas, and how could i drain the gas without dropping the tank.
thanks in advance everyone

you can unhook the fuel line going into the filter and either A) keep priming the car until it is empty, but that will proly kill the battery and take forever, or B) remove the gas cap and put a leaf blower against it...it pressurizes the tank and pushes the fuel out....I have also taken my shop vac and put the hose on the exhaust port and pressurized the tank that way...
ps... catch the fuel in a bucket, and it is still flammable even if it wont start the car....and my 92 has a drain plug on it, I dont think they started doing that until 92 though

Yes, the 2 year old gas could be your problem.
SRMOFO's suggestions could work but there is a certain amount of danger involved. I would suggest using a jumper wire to provide battery power to the wire that turns on the fuel pump and pump the old fuel into a gas can. I would also make sure the gas can was grounded and that the gas can had a jumper wire connecting it to the car so there will not be any static sparks.
Happy Motoring!

Ditto the above, 2 year old gas will not be good for much more then lighting camp fires, [quickly].
Siphon all the gas out, [or as much as you can] disconnect fuel return line off fuel pressure regulator, run a hose from regulator to jerrycan unplug injectors and let it prime until lines are empty, replace the fuel filter, fill with new gas, [at least 5gal] add a good quality injector cleaner, fire it up. 94
