picked up the starter from a hatch and its a 89 mines a 88 sedan but i didnt think there should be a difference but when i hook up the battery the starter starts spinnin like crazy and cant start the car are they different for some reason?

checked the searches and nothin came up with the same problem so i guess im the only dumb one to try it out

what was wrong with the old starter?

was it the correct starter for your transmission?

 

well the old starter (the one that came out of the car) is good now i find out so i checked the grounds and the fuses and there all good the dizzy seems to be good from what i can see

 

So did it exhibit the same symptom? If so then it would seem that your flywheel/flexplate ring gear is ****ed.

 

well i figured out that the old starter is perfectly fine and due to my dumb@$$ i forgot to check the plugs which were fried and the plug seals were gone so i had oil in 2 and 3 so i picked up plugs wires and the seals gata wait for the seals then i'll put an update if its still havin problems
