Where there a lot less 4 door EFs built
I'm having the hardest time finding a 4 door ex for sale. all i'm finding are mainly dx's and a few lx's. makes me wonder if there were just a lot less ex's made.
thanks,
thanks,
i'd agree.... pretty hard to find. i have no stats for u tho
i was in the market for one before, since it had a lot of the features i wanted. but due to overall condition i had to settle for an LX and do those mods myself. if you do mpfi, brakes, etc yourself, it does bring a certain sense of satisfaction.

Honda probably sold far fewer EX sedans when they were new. I don't have any actual figures, but I suspect when they were new for around the same price as an EX civic you could be in a base model accord, which probably had pretty decent standard features. It also doesn't help that theres a ton of good stuff on the EX sedans that guys with EF hatches and CRXs want, so everytime one does appear it gets parted out.
You're even less likely to find one here. Especially if you want to have a body and a floor. I haven't looked overly hard with EFs, but with EGs in canada power options didn't seem to sell well, you mostly see base models, or special editions that are a little above a base model.

i flew from KY to NJ to get mine because it was the nearest one that was clean LOL.
i THINK the LX's all had power windows, locks, mirrors, & seatbelts. not sure if those were optional on the DX's or not. and i'm pretty sure all the LX bumpers were color-matched. but yeah.... any of them are tough to find.

yeah, i'm thinking i may need to take a road trip to find a good one. i have found a lot of DX's but most are in crappy condition. i have no interest in buying someone elses problem.

So the Si was much more popular in the CRX than in the Civic, but the Si/Ex numbers on the Civic really jump in 1990 when the Ex is introduced. I have never seen actual production numbers though.

wow, i know of three here in PA(including mine), but except for two, one is not for sale(mine of course). there is a white one, lurking around(think it's automatic) and there is a maroon one like mine, that people use as a beater, but its acutally pretty decent. except for the passenger fender(dent) it looks cleaner then mine(less rust), and less miles(around 150k). oh, it also has honda alloys(look like optional equipment). if i had money, id buy that and part mine.

ive seen a total of 4 so far here as well as a few new hatchbacks and crx's popping up through the winter.
one is owned by my friends uncle. i wanted it but it needed an entire front end change and chassis harness change as well. ive seen two white ones with little to no rust and a blue one. as for the hatchbacks, ive seen a clean lowered tinted black one and a lowered blue one. crx's ive seen a red one with graffiti all over it in every color imaginable, and a lime yellow crx which looks damn nice.
other than that my friend and i are the only two with "ed" civic hatchbacks in that area that i know of. his is swapped with a b18a1 that the dizzy just died on him yesterday, and mine which is just a midly high compression d series that looks bone stock.....sleeper!!

i have a 90 Ef sedan LX, but its got a d16a6 and is MPFI so may as well be an EX...i just dont have the bigger brakes.
but yes, the LX has power windows, locks, mirrors, and seatbelts. pretty much like a DA GS model.

I see DX and LX sedans all day long--they're all over the place, still in bone stock daily driver form for a lot of people. I hardly ever see EX sedans, though--I see Civic and CRX Si's more frequently.
The EX has cool 14" hubcaps too, a star type thing.

unfortunately, i'm probably about 5 weeks out from being able to get one. something unexpcted came up.
THANKS!

That is very helpful.
