90 civic dx & 91 civic si (parts compatibility?)
hi guys new to the honda community i have a 1990 civic dx and was wondering if the parts from a 91 civic SI (scrap) would bolt right onto the dx or if the parts are even interchangable (this includes engine and all running gear)
- thanks looking forward to answers

For the most part, yes, but it depends on what exactly you want to do.
The most significant difference between the two is the fuel injection system (dual-point fuel injection in the DX vs. multi-point fuel injection in the Si). Having a complete Si parts car puts you at an advantage for the conversion. However, it's still not an easy change unless you're either competent with wiring or willing to swap the entire chassis harnesses - but it is the most worthwhile modification you can make to a DX. It's also required for just about any engine swap, and even with the stock D15B2 engine it's an opportunity for more potential and better response to modifications.
As for the "running gear," the brake systems, axles and hubs are exactly the same between the two. Control arms are all interchangeable. The Si has sway bars at both ends that will bolt on to the DX with the associated hardware. The Si springs and dampers are slightly uprated in specification, but fitment is the same so they will interchange.

thanks for your help i just have a couple more questions if you dont mind my asking i have a d15b7 engine block but still the dual point fuel injection does this make any difference or no? can you take the wiring harness from the si and just plug it in to the dx or do you have to completely rewire it if you have to rewire it is there someplace i can buy a wiring harness and how much does it cost? all the interior parts should be interchangable as well correct?
thanks you have been a great help
thanks you have been a great help
unfortunately it's not as simple as just swapping harnesses. you can still perform fuel injection swap with your d15b7 block. search on this board for "MPFI swap".... one of the posts you find will give you the complete wiring instructions. you will have all the parts you need at your disposal, which is a great start!
