How do I mount the oddysey pc380 battery
Yo,
I want to order that batery buy I'm using my factory hold down bracket.
In the pics it looks like the terminals are rite on the side, so there would be no room for the bracket to grab. How do you guys mount it?
I wat o keep the factory mount locatiion.
Thanks

To be honest, that battery is meant to be located away from stock location. Otherwise, you're paying alot for a battery that discharges alot faster than a regular battery.
If you want to mount in the stock location, just get a regular battery. The weight difference is negligible for a crx battery, and it costs alot less.
But if you must, you can always zip tie it down to your battery tray or use sheet metal straps and screws.
Just my 2 cents.
I bought a 1/8"x1" aluminum bar and bent my own bracket. I drilled holes for the tie downs and sprayed a bunch of plasti-dip rubber over it to keep it from arching.
I think the 15 or so lbs of savings off the front is worth it.

Could yu post a pic?
I thought I couldreverse the bracket so it's like this \ instead of this /

I bought the bracket from Password JDM... despite what password said.. only two of the 6 holes lined up.. but I made some brackets and it is sturdy. I honestly wouldnt reccomend it though..

I've been using PC535's (and the generic versions of it) for about 4 years now. They weigh in at about 12 lbs and will start a car easily. Plan to pay around $110 for these batteries now.
Yea, I know How I'm going to mount it now, just fab up a bracket. Just trying to choose the rite one now. which pc680 model, or the buddy club. and if it's okay for daily, like I don't want to go into the mall to watch a movie and when I come out, no start =[
The 680 battery will be fine for everyday use. It has a 14.8ah capacity, which unless you have some kind of electrical problem, would be enough to let your car sit for over a month, with the alarm set, and still come back to enough power to start the car.
wait a minute, soryy to bump so much. But I just found a powerstar ps680, looks like that one ^. says, replacement for pc680, comparable to.
Anyone heard of this battery? It's only 50.00 dollars.
Though it look like auto posts won't work with it

That one is an old Hawker G13, my previous battery. It lasted 3 years. I replaced it with a PC535 last year (same size and specs):

The PC535 is one size down from the PC680, and works fine for my part of the country, and probably would for CA too. The Powerstar looks like a good deal. Any links?

Yea, the powerstar.
Their website is kind of, eh; http://www.powerstarsla.com/
though, looks like the posts are only the motorcycle type.

for the price of those batteries, why not just relocate it to the trunk? seriously, and you'll save even more weight although in a mostly stock car, I know 35lbs wont do ****...or do something that actually adds power to the car and the 35lbs wont matter
Take a stroll through the pits at the SCCA Solo and Pro-Solo Nationals and peek under the hoods of all the top running STS and STS2 cars (which happen to be EF hatches and CRXs). You'll see your answer there.
Does anyone have experience with these small batteries in a cold climate? I live where its damn cold. My stinger deep cycle battery works great. Sometimes it sounds like I have molasses for oil on a cold day when I start up.
there site says it stands 20 degrees for 2 years.
yeah those are cars that are raced at the national level...hes obviously dealing with a DD here.....now explain to me how these 2 situations are even close to the same.....the top dogs are always looking for that extra edge, thats what justifies the cost of some of these items, but on a DD its ridiculously stupid....what are you looking to cut a few tenths of your trip to the store and back?
sorry to thread jack, back on topic

I think it's okay seeing as these are more durable.
Meaning, for a daily it actually makes sense since it won't let you down
I dont see how it is more durable for a daily if it only withstands 20s for 2 years.... if your anywhere near me its colder than that right now and it will get colder....to each their own, I guess....just keep AAA on speed dial, lol
