clicking noise =O
sounds like something is clicking in the motor, my oil was low and i got it changed today. when i rev past 3k theres a clicking noise. sounds like something is loose or isnt lubricated =( any ideas on what it might be? i thought it might have just been because there was low oil. but i let it sit in idle for about 5 mins and drove it for about 20 miles and still, same clicking noise.
If your oil light goes on. . . your engine is more than likely already dead or dying. The oil light only goes on under a RIDICULOUSLY low oil psi. Like ~2 or 3. Check the revving = clicking thing I said, and it would probably diagnose a rod I believe. What engine is it?

Yeah, usually "tapping" or "clicking" is the valvetrain, while "knocking" is the bottom end...but this isn't always the case...
Take it somewhere for an expert opinion, or post a video or soundclip.

ill get a vid up of it, it sounds like its coming from the head so im guessing valvetrain. i mean ****, i might just use this as an excuse to swap a B series or build the motor for boost. should have a vid up later tonight or tomorrow. thanks for all the help so far guys.
no oil light but i have a SI cluster swapped so it might not be plugged in. my buddy thinks the cam timing is off. gonna adjust and see if that helps any, if not then its prob a bearing. easiest way to fix?
If you have no idea what a rod knock sounds like, then I would drain the oil out, fill it back up with 20w50 and then start the car. If the noise goes away or gets really quiet, then you have a rod knock, but if it sounds the same, it's probably valve train.
For my 00 Civic (D16Y8), I have an engine clicking noise that is intermittent and only noticeable when the engine is warm and idling. I adjusted the valve clearance to spec, and it had no effect on the noise. I think it's time to try to localize this intermittent engine sound, but does anyone have any ideas in advance? The oil light has never come on and the oil level is full.
my clicking noise isnt noticable at idle only when i 1st start the car and it revs to 2k and then drops. but when driving its badd, 1st-3rd gears anything past 3k rpm is torture, i feel like im abusing her =( so i keep it around 2k
You may want to consider not driving it under it is repaired. You are definitely causing more damage.
