Default clicking noise =O

sounds like something is clicking in the motor, my oil was low and i got it changed today. when i rev past 3k theres a clicking noise. sounds like something is loose or isnt lubricated =( any ideas on what it might be? i thought it might have just been because there was low oil. but i let it sit in idle for about 5 mins and drove it for about 20 miles and still, same clicking noise.

did it make that noise when you turn??
if so then your CV joint is busted and you need a new left or right axle

Does the clicking speed up while you rev up? Check that out first. And are you entirely sure the clicking wasn't there before the low oil situation?

If your oil light goes on. . . your engine is more than likely already dead or dying. The oil light only goes on under a RIDICULOUSLY low oil psi. Like ~2 or 3. Check the revving = clicking thing I said, and it would probably diagnose a rod I believe. What engine is it?

ooooooh ohhhh
if it does when you rev it up, get more clicking, faster, louder... then your bunked
if so possibly a bent valve or something stuck, if not may not be SO bad

Yeah, usually "tapping" or "clicking" is the valvetrain, while "knocking" is the bottom end...but this isn't always the case...

Take it somewhere for an expert opinion, or post a video or soundclip.

how loud is it ? is it a ticking or knocking ? if ticking dont sweat it, just get a valve adjustment.

If you have no idea what a rod knock sounds like, then I would drain the oil out, fill it back up with 20w50 and then start the car. If the noise goes away or gets really quiet, then you have a rod knock, but if it sounds the same, it's probably valve train.

if its rod knock, which it sounds like it is, buying a new head isn't going to help you

For my 00 Civic (D16Y8), I have an engine clicking noise that is intermittent and only noticeable when the engine is warm and idling. I adjusted the valve clearance to spec, and it had no effect on the noise. I think it's time to try to localize this intermittent engine sound, but does anyone have any ideas in advance? The oil light has never come on and the oil level is full.

You may want to consider not driving it under it is repaired. You are definitely causing more damage.
