no its the guys in this section dont like to answer questions that have been asked and covered a hundred times before, follow itr1244's link and do a search there are many threads about roll cages on this site

you also need to specify what kind of cage you want to build, is it for road racing, auto cross, drag racing, rally racing etc etc, there all going to be different, best thing to do is figure out what kind of racing your building the cage for, and what sanctioning body and contact them for a rule book, it will have details on what specifications the cage needs to have to be legal in that specific class

Maybe you should try the fabrication section.

Hang out in the RR Forum and research designs by people like Mitch Piper, who specialise in FWD roll cages (especially Integras) that comply with the NASA CCR and SCCA requirements.

James Evans in Baltimore also puts in FWD, CCR-compliant cages.

You might even want to visit the NASA CCR and start reading it.

People who respond cruelly are not really likely to engage in the sport at the level you'll have to participate to make money. Try not to hold it against them.

These are pictures of a dedicated track car, an ITR designed to be H2 Honda Challenge-compliant.

Something you have to be careful of and with is the bar that's behind the dash...and nobody's really going to have pictures of that after it's done. You're going to have to catch that in progress or get in good enough with somebody that he'll tell you.

The windshield post bars are a little tricky. The more of a trapezoidal shape you have, the stronger the design...but if you make it too much of a trapezoid you'll restrict the vision of taller drivers, and too much of a strong trapezoid could also cause a tall driver's helmet to bump the door bar on the left.

the pics of the cages above would NOT pass tech at a drag strip though. if it is drag race cage how fast do you want to go? under 135mph you could do a 6 point. faster than that you will need a full 10pt with window net and certification

It was not so bad years ago when it was done by Mitch Piper.
