Default red light camera's?

i know this isnt the right section, but my friend was driving and saw a yellow light (in an intersection that has a red light camera) and he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, so by the time he noticed i was hitting the gas pedal, he was like.. screw it, just keep on going.

from what i remembered, he was in the middle of the interesection when when the red light hit red for the first split second, but i didnt see any flashes from the red light camera, and this was at night so it was dark. this is in Seattle, WA so im not sure if the cameras have infared or white flashes.

anyone know? i know this isnt the right place for this but the most people come to the eg forum. my friend just dont have the money right now for a ticket and insurance increase, just tons of **** be happening lately and with the economy. thanks

well first off check this out if your bored.

just cause it flashes doesn't mean for sure your getting a ticket.
i brake hard before the cross walk line and it flashes on me on the time.. in one case i str8 up made a right on a red got a flash and no ticket. in that case i believe they were doing road construction so maybe i was lucky. either way nothing is for sure. and if u read the info in the link above it will help u out further.

Where I live, in New York City, the red light cameras have flashes. At least the ones around in my area. You can actually see it flash in the night time. I'm not sure about getting a ticket though, but I would think you would. I've never been caught in a red light camera before so I wouldn't know.

"so by the time "I" notcied "I" was hitting the gas pedal"
im thinking it was you driving and not your friend. if it was you just say it. BIG DEAL!
and no. if you were in the middle when it does red your good.
the cross walks have sensors on them that enable the camera and flash to go off once a car passes it on a red light

If you think you might have to worry about this, here's what TicketAssassin has to say.

First, make sure your visor is down and sit up in the seat so they can't take a pic of your face. Then, if you do get a ticket, just argue that it wasn't you driving. And since your face is obscured, there is no way to *prove* that you were driving. Just tell them you let your friends borrow your car often and didn't remember who was driving it that day.

There is only proof that your car went through the intersection, not that you were driving.

With any luck, your ticket will be dismissed.

eh, i would think that they would still say that it was your car so you are responsible if you let someone borrow it and they ran a red light

Okay, so by that same token, if you rent a car, is the rental place responsible for your ticket?

Yea dude they set u up with those. There is this one going to my school and its a busy road that is downhill. It turns into school zone right before the camera so the speed limit changes to 35 from 45 causing automatic tickets for most drivers Including me, I got two then learned my lesson.

About the red light camera most likely you didnt get it. But if you do its not the end of the world and its no biggie with insurance.

i read up on the whole red light ticket thing .. true its your car. but if a picture is showing someone that is not you driving . you dont have to say who it is. in court just say IT WASN'T ME and if they keep asking keep repeating that.. dont say i dont know who it is or something along those lines since thats considered purgery. also they could try to compare pic to driver licences pic of people in your house hold to try to catch the person just so you know..

look up fake red light ticket. thats how they send u a fake ticket to trick you into snitching out the driver.

yea i guess its not too big of a biggie

Unseen Racer, you got it right. it was actually me driving, but in my girls car. we kinda have a bit of problem since that happened, but ill cover all the costs. its just ive been struggling just to keep up with expenses and my job is really bullshit, supervisor threatening to cut hours or fire people. im just not having anything left after i get my paycheck every month, and i still dont spend on many things that i dont need.

thanks guys, i guess the chances are pretty slim since theres no flash, and it was pretty dark at night
