A 93 ecu is obd1, but as far as I know, there is no date on ECU's.

well if he posts the ecu numbers up we can tell if it is indeed a obd1 ecu or a obd0, or pics as well. anyone could have written 93 integra on it...

All EF and DA ECUs that I've seen have the date of manufacture stamped in black ink on them.

Still, that's not as accurate as going by the part number since it is possible that the car may have had a new ECU installed at some point in its service history.

Always verify the part number from the ID sticker on the side of the ECU case.

Well the ECU code is kind of iffy. There was an OBD1 and an OBD0 PR4, seen many of them. Check the ECU plugs where the ECU plugs into the harness. If there all grey its OBD1 if theres 2 black ones and a green (on ECU side) that plug will be white on harness. Also can check under your hood at the distributor (unless the plugs have been changed which I've only had luck with the 9pin round connector) If there white and round its OBD0 and if square and Grey OBD1 you can't use an OBD0 with OBD1 ECU and vice versa

That's why you must check the entire part number, not just the middle three characters. Just the "PR4" powertrain identifier only tells you that it's a B18A1 ECU, but add in the revision modifier code "A11" and you'll know you have an OBD-1 '92-93 5-speed ECU without California emissions.

The last section of the part number can make a difference even if the middle section is the same. For example, a PM6-A09 ECU from a '90-91 Si has updated maps and is much more desireable than a PM6-A08 ECU from an '89 Si for ST-class autocrossing due to the 300 RPM higher rev limiter.

simple look at the ecu plugs where the harness plugs in. are they grey or green and black.
GREY=obd1
black and green=obd0
