lately my engine has been sounding weird after i let off the gas. its sorta the squeaking sound and i think its my timing belt tensioner.this happens even when im not moving so its nuthing tranny related and it used to be a soft squeal now its kinda loud at times when i gas a lil to hard and let go of pedal. any one have any idea what it can be ?

input shaft bearing can make a noise when you not moving and its in the tranny

 

welllll i know its not that because its only when i gas and let go the sound seems like its coming from belt area

 

check your belts first, they could be worn and might be loose.

 

A mechanic's stethoscope can be super handy for figuring out these problems.

 

my dad who is a mechanic says it might be my power steering pump going out but i steer perfectly liek not much effort to steer at all ? any more suggestions ?

 

something you might want to check out is the idler pulley

awhile ago i changed all my belts on the car, when i would rev the engine it made a squeaking sound. Used that tool the honda guy is talking about and could clearly hear the idler pulley was bad.
