i've seen this a few times, but does anyone know where i'll find a pocket that will fit into the oem radio location in a 92-95 civic?

something like this..

 

the pocket that comes with the audio console fits like that. then you can use a metra/scosche/ai dash kit in the audio console to mount your radio into. or you can get the cheap metra universal pocket and it will snap in.

Dumb question but wouldnt the radio be better located up in the original area? Easier to see and access. I could see if your putting gauges there or something but a pocket?

 

actually its better down there. less glare from the sun and your hand is already right in front of it because of the shifter.

that's exactly why i want it down there. i have an alpine deck and when the sun hits it.. i can't see the screen because of the glare.

 

yep, i dont even have to take my hand off the shifter to work it.

 

so what do you use ? or nose ?

 

om, no. my fingers reach the radio face while my hand is still sitting on the shifter.

 

What did you use for the bottom part where your radio and that pocket is ?

 

I put a 1-DIN cupholder + junk tray in my upper DIN slot. Works nicely since there is no problem with the lower part of the dash interfering with a bottle or travel mug like what happens down low.
