Icon6 95 accord electrical and no spark problem

I have a high mileage 95 accord ex.I have been having a problem with the small light fuse blowing that was making my dash lights and day time running brake lights go out when I turn on my headlights. It use to blow a fuse every couple months, now its immmediate.Anyways,to the main problem, the other night I needed to have my dash lights and I was messing with some underhood fuses,I think my friend tried to wrap a piece of foil around on of the fuses or something stupid. So I go to drive without the tailights anyways i got maybe a half mile and my car died while running,at the same time I smellled a burning smell coming into the car,now it will turn over fine and I was told the fuel pump is working but it is getting no spark.A cheap test light showed that the black and yellow wire going into the distributor is getting power.I am in the process of buying a whole new used distributor but am scared to put it in in fear of it blowing too.Would the smell be that of a distributor burning or what? Any ideas? also the d4 light has started blinking as well.

The smell is more than likely the TCM which failed, overheated and has now set off the flashing D4.

Your "friend" deserves a hit upside the head, stupid indeed.

As to the no start condition. I'd start with the simple stuff first.

Look at the Distributor Cap/Rotor.
If you see water spots, what looks like pencil lines, cracks or a blueish halo type sheen inside the cap - shitcan it.
If the center of the Rotor has a burnt spot under the center contact - shitcan it
Look at the ignitor module.
If it has spots which look like burn marks - shitcan it.

If this condition came on only since it's gotten damp, you may have defective spark plug wires.

so should I be buying a Transmission control module? Do you think it is safe to just stick a different distributor on? Im just really nervous about burning up another distributor,if in fact that is even the problem. Much Thanks
