brake booster paint coming off due to leak
i believe my brake master cylinder is leaking onto the brake booster. it is causing the paint to come off and the metal has slight corrosion.
i plan on replacing the master cylinder, but do i need to replace the brake booster at the same time? is it possible just to repaint it or is the leaking master cylinder likely causing damage to the brake booster?

I have the samething happening to mine. I just replaced the master cylinder, booter is fine. It is just a cosmetic thing. Yes you can paint it. I dont have a show car so I am not planning on painting it. Now that you have a new master cylinder, it is fully sealed. It should not effect your booster at all.
ok first thing that leak is mosdef a bad master cylinder. second how long has it been leaking for. the reason i ask is that the rubber diaphram is side the booster is made of butyl rubber with does not withstand fluids such as oil, brake fliud, or any other petroleum base material, so after time time its starts to soften it, think of electrical tape when it gets oil or gas on it, it starts to get mushy and make a mess. so if its only been a couple weeks then you should be fine, but not seeing it in person and for saftey reasons i would just look into replacing both at the same time, and dont forget to bench bleed the MS before you install it. good luck doooode
