Default boosting a dohc ZC

i've tryed searching, but this new search feature is whooping my butt.

Im looking at ~220 - 250 whp for my CRX. Its already got a dohc zc swap, and i'm really just looking to boost it and run mid - high 13's.

I've read that the stock block can hold up to 300 as well as stock internals? Is that correct? Would a 14b turbo do the job for my goals? Any help is appreciated.

Really, if your going to turbo your car, unless you're poor or running a really low boost, you should always build the engine to cope with the higher stresses a turbocharger puts on the internals.

Just because you may have heard it held 300hp on stock internals, doesn't mean it held it for more then a few days.

do a compression check and leak down test before going ahead with the project, the dohc zc's are an older engine now and well have higher mileage on them...

well if your rebuilding then you wont really need a compression test....how much experience do you have on cars?

Well you don't need that much whp to get mid 13's.

I pushed a small HIH turbo to 6psi on a stock motor and ran 13.504 with turboedit and some 450cc DSM injectors. Estimated running about 170-180hp in a 2000lb CRx.

So, the setup your thinking about should easily get you in the 12's.
