So 09' has inspired me to keep my roots with hondas and build a civic my way, my style, and my wants and needs .. I dont post here much but have been sitting back for the past six years reading, learning, and enjoying for the most part the people on HT that keep our lifestyle fun. 08' really killed off alot of my love for the game, I had a couple of civics and a teg but never really could find my passion I used to have for my cars. I traded a del sol I bought for fun for this 90' Si hatch w/ some goodies already in it but a busted tranny. Stripped it down w/ all the intentions in the world to build it for IA 09' but havent really touched it for the past three months. Here it is 01/01/09 and Im going to try to get in gear and still push for IA 09' if possible.. either way here is what Im starting with and ill keep you peeps updated as I go..

- 1990 Civic Si (ed7) *sorta * Rio Red Hatch -
w/ Built D16a6 (eagles and vitaras)

Dyno'd at 249? on 14lbs (these numbers arent solid due to no proof)
but before I pulled the car apart I believe the numbers were close.
This hatch was traded around the Dallas area on craigslist alot
so that is where I got the #s from.

-Besides the clean interior and almost flawless body
everything else was junk

Plans... I guess I have some of those...

BODY
- Full Engine Bay SHave
- All new body panels (keeping it usdm w/ the ed7 front )
- Goodies (Lips, Mirrors, Charge Speed Wing *played but I want one*,ect)
- Full Paint (undecided color)
- 6pt Cage w/ harness bar
- Keep it clean and simple looking but pay extra attention to every detail

INTERIOR
-F1 Spec Kevlar Seat
-Crow Harness
-Nardi Wheel w/ Quick Release
-FLP Shifter
-S2k Cluster
-Full Interior (No ac/heat, underdash gutted, all useless bs thrown out)

SUSPENSION
- Full Coilover (Undecided either going w/ Func/Form II or Yellows/GC
combo)
- All New Bushings
- Replace all worn parts
- Slotted Brembo Rotors
- EBC Yellow Pads
- Full Brake line Tuck

ROLLERS
-Will depend on what color I paint the car

MOTOR
- D16a6 Arps, Eagles, Vitaras w/ a stock head
- Turbo Setup good for 450+/- only going to push for 400whp though
- There are alot of turbos I could use to reach my goal but I havent
decided on one yet.. I really want a useable powerband
- Stock cable si trans/ Stock Axles/ Possible OBX LSD

This is just a basic list... I want a clean/simple/fast/but different street car.
Im going to Arkansa for a week but once I get back Im going to get started on shaving the bay and doing the body work. Alot to do these next couple months heres some pix of the stripping process.

Definitely going to try to do it BIG! I have a couple ideas to try to set my car apart from everyone else's car. I'm about to leave to go on vacation so this thread will be dead for 5+ days but Ill get some updates going when I get back.

 

Man I miss driving that beast. My old hatch lol It was pretty damn fast. It rapped a couple of cars- dc teg(gsr on a 75 shot),2000 si(boosted hp??), del sol(supercharged gsr 207hp), tt 300zx. Hurry up and get this thing going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a pic of the turbo set up that is on the a6 at the moment.

 

Its not everyday you see a topmount hanging of a sohc, looks like your going for big numbers, i wonder what the power band will be like on that thing......good luck with build!

Well this project will now b in my hands cuz my boy $ugarfree has sold me my old car back. The direction I'am planning on going with this setup will b 400hp+!! Haven't decided which turbo to go with though.
