eg hatch VS 90 CRX
i'm planning to make a new project for a track car, mostly autocross/hill climb, i have two options here, eg hatch and a crx.
the eg had some accidents but working fine now, i know maybe this car easy to swap engines in, everything just bolt on this car.
the crx has a d16a8 in it, maybe rare to find parts to tune this engine, swapping a b series engine could cause some troubles cuz u need kits to make it go inside. but lighter and better looking (my opinion).
chassis wise who's better for a track car?! who could perform better and get better times when properly tunned?!
i was thinking about the crx with some boring job with that d16a8 engine, or maybe a small turbo, but maybe b series is better for me and maybe more reliable, easy to find parts for it too.
i want some opinions from people who has experienced both in track.
i dont live in USA, so its a little bet hard to get some parts for the CRX, i know i'm nearly answering my own question but i love the CRX so much and i really need a good explanations to make me go for that eg

i think eg has better center of gravity and handles better and swap in a torquey motor(autocross) like b20 or ls with a vtec head if u like.
Ok for the track go crx for daily go eg
i had them both i still have a eg i have a kid thats the only reason y
some1 said center of gravity the crx has better center not the eg
the crx is lighter =faster times on ff cars
same bay so you can put the same engs in
handles a lot better than the eg by .8 sec in a solemn race thats a lot and the top Ferrari
in the solemn race bet the crx by .1 .2 car and driver did the test on that the crx was stock and it was not the si so the crx has the best handles with a good suspension.
so for the track go crx i wish i can get mine back i had a 88 crx with a zc eng that $hit was fast as fuc* with 107whp $hit think what it can do wint the k eng.

i got rid of my rex reminds me of the da integra engine bay!! pain in the a$$ not alot of room like the eg and they have that stupid cromember in the way... id say eg hatch but thats cause im a big fan of them! and think their sexy haha... really just comes down to what car you really want...
the difference is negligable, get whatever you can find that's in better condition.
if that doesn't help, get whatever feels more comfortable
if that doesn't help, flip a coin.

I own a civic and a crx. the civic chassi twist more than the crx. But other way its more easy and mayby cheaper parts to build up a good civic. And how it looks is'nt that important if its only for the track...
My self I drive my crx both on track on road.

eg all the way...I autoX in my h22 si...put some coilovers and sway bars and there is no chassis twist or bending whatsoever. Plus you get some SERIOUS torque. Not saying h-series is the best..(well in my opinion it is)...but eg's i have always seen have handled better if setup correctly
if ur building a car for only track use, the crx is the obvious choice. the crx is lighter and handles better. i drive an eg and love it as a daily but if i didnt need back seats i wouldnt think twice to get a crx. If you really want to have allot of fun in the crx around an autox track gut the hell out of it and get some sticky slicks. Then cage it and beef up the suspension (coilovers, sway bars, controll arms, ect...) IF you have money left then do a swap or work on the motor but when it comes to autoxing its all about handling. Thats why the civics always beat the mustangs.
