What's the maximum spring rate i can use with stock ITR shocks on my 88 hatch?

What's the maximum spring rate i can use with stock ITR shocks on my 88 hatch?
... taking into account that my car weighs under 2000 pounds? It's a street legal road race car (slow one). I want to run Ground Controls (now I have H&R Race with KYB GR-2). I'm assuming that because the car is 20% lighter than an ITR, I can run a higher spring rate than an ITR without killing them... Thanks.
