hey HT members ****en cops raided my house because they said that iv been stealing cars and they seen under my hood and i have a OB1 JDM b16a Motor that i bought from some guy on craigslist in Fresno County with out paper work. I got lock up for this and they tow my car and now there trying to say that the long block is stolen too! beacuse it is a JDM motor with out vin. soo i got locked up as a misdemeanor for haveing a tranny without a vin and my bail ammount is 150 and got bail the next day, there trying to pin the long block (b16a) as a stolen motor beacuse it doesnt have a vin also witch is going to be a felon and imma get time for that because theres no way i can prove that i didnt steal it.


Soo HT members plz help me buy givein me any info on where i can find a site where it can prove that the b16a motor and tranny doesn't come with a metal plate vin

wat i noe is that the tranny comes witht he sticker vin but from wat i noe the sticker can come of threw the rain, snow and the weather! but i need to prove that it does from a site or any infomation

Try to get back in touch with the guy who sold you the motor?
I'm not familiar with the laws and regulations in CA, but...
it seems like you'll need a solid proof to prove this.

 

I believe JDM motor and tranny's didn't come with VIN plates.

 

idk how it is in cali but here they try that **** all the time. Jus blowin smoke tryin to get you to confess. they have to prove that its stolen. my boy bought a trans from some shady guy with no VIN. got pulled over and they impounded it. made him take it out b4 he could get the car out. best bet get a lawyer b4 you do anything

 

i would contact a jdm engine importer such as hmotorsonline and have them right a statement/affadavit to the fact that JDM motors DO NOT CONTAIN VIN's because they are not US engines and are legally sold and traded amongst Honda Enthusiasts world wide.


It is the burden of proof for the prosecution aka the police to prove that the engine was stolen. People all the time sell things on EBAY and CraigsList with all bills of sale and they can't prove otherwise. good luck on your case and if you did steal it and are hoping people like me help you get out of it, then i hope you die.

 

arent you innocent until proven guilty? wouldnt they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you stole something and where you stole it from and prove its that exact motor?
as many jdm importers as there are in cali i dont think it would be hard getting a written statement from them that these engines do not come with vins and that the serial numbers on the trannys are just stickers.

jdm engines also do not contain a number after the last leter, so thats proof it was not stolen from any us car.

 

good lookin and no i dont steal because i got alot of my cars stolen too i hate them also im no thief thinks for all the info is there any pic u guys can provid me with showing that the sticker vin does fall i have one here but thats not enough

i say get a lawyer there is no way they can prove you stole that motor, inless you bought the motor from an undercover cop and knew it was stolen... i would hate to be accused for something i didn't do!

xxx2 they cant prove you stole it just cuz the sticker is not there,,,,worst worst case,,they take the tranny out and give you the car back, like others have stated,i doubt it tho,,,get a lawyer tho..why they think you stealing cars tho?

 

dude if something doesnt have a vin number then they dont care if thats ***** from japan iraq brazil its stolen
no vin = stolen. only way your getting ur car back is leaving you un-vin items at the impound and taking your shell
